1960s Bold Silver Enamel Brooch Pendant Converter

$ 750.00

This Vintage 1960's silver and and enamel brooch/pendant converter was handcrafted around the tail end of the mid-century modern period, c.1960. The bold modern design and color scheme of this piece makes it an instant conversation starter. The motif appears to be a Tahitian woman with a pink flower in her hair and a necklace of pearls. The deep blue and turquoise colored enamel give it a tropical feel, but the modern lines seem almost ethereal, even a bit of something out of the period's newly burgeoning genre of science fiction. An equally impressive size, it measures 67.4 x 54.7 mm and sits a 3.6 in depth. It weighs 26.7 grams and though it is unmarked it has been professional acid tested as sterling silver. The original sterling silver chain is also included, and measures 16.5".
